Conference in Warsaw

On May 21, 2010 in the Ball-room of Tyszkiewicz-Potocki palace of the Warsaw University the scientific conference “Ivan Mazepa in history, historiography and art” was held. The Ukrainian and Polish scientists, lecturers form the educational institutions, students and post-graduate students of the Polish institutions of higher education took part in the conference. Within the framework of the conference there was also the presentation of the publishing project “Hetman” which quickened a keen interest among the Polish audience.

Ivan Mazepa in history, historiography and art

On May 21, 2010 in the Ball-room of Tyszkiewicz-Potocki palace of the Warsaw University the international scientific conference “Ivan Mazepa in history, historiography and art” was held. The East European Studies of Warsaw University and the publishing house “Tempora” were the co-organizers of the conference. The noted Ukrainian and Polish scientists: Volodymyr Panchenko, Myroslav Nagelskyi, Olexy Sokyrko, Piotr Kroll, Olga Kovalevska, Teresa Chynczewska-Hennel and others, were among the participants of the conference. Dariusz Maciak was the moderator of the conference. In addition to delivery and discussion of the scientific reports, within the framework of the conference there was also the presentation of the publishing project “Hetman” which aroused a sincere interest of the Polish audience. The materials of the conference will be published in the scientific journal «Przegląd Wchodni».

Round table conference “Ukrainian constitutionalism: history, lessons learnt and practice”

On March 25, 2010 in the building of the Museum of History of Poltava Battle (Poltava, Shveds’ka Mohyla, 32) there will the round table conference “Ukrainian constitutionalism: history, lessons learnt and practice” dedicated to the 300-years anniversary since the date of conclusion of the “Pacts and Constitutions of Rights and Freedoms of the Zaporizhian Host” known as the Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk. Presentation of the publishing project “Hetman” in Rivne

On March 10, 2010 in Rivne at the invitation of the local “Prosvita” in the building of the People’s House the scheduled presentation of the publishing project “Hetman” by the publishing house “Tempora” was held. The representatives of the local educational institutions, museums, social society organizations attended the event. The presentation of the objective and content of two-volume book developed into lively exchange of opinions of the researches, education workers, museum workers and all interested participants that once again confirmed the importance of information dissemination about our past among the general public of the Ukrainian society independently of the region, age and social status.

“Ivan Mazepa and Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” Exhibition

(updated) On January 22, 2010 in the premise of the Museum of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (NaUKMA, 2, Skovoroda street, building of the Holy Spirit church) the exhibition “Ivan Mazepa and Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” was opened. This exhibition is dedicated to Ivan Mazepa, one of the major patrons of the Academy and its graduate. The basis of the exhibition is made of Ivan Mazepa images and copies of eulogistic theses in his honour (from museum and library collections in Ukraine, Russia and Poland).

On November 10-11, 2009 at Harvard University the international conference “Poltava 1709. Revisiting a Turning Point in European History” was held. The organizer of the scientific event is the Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts) with assistance of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the University of Alberta (Edmonton) and the Woodrow Wilson International Centre (Washington).
