Organization of impeachment to Mazepa in 1707
There are quite a lot of sources about denunciation by the general judge Vasil Kochubey about Ivan Mazepa, which explains his action by aspiration to show up the hetman as the traitor of the tsar, to prove his loyalty to Peter I and to revenge for “abuse” of his daughter Motrya. In the meantime the thorough studying of the investigation documents in this case and the circumstances for appearance of the petition give all the reasons to make somewhat different conclusions with regard to the motivation of the revealing document.
